The shock outcome of the Brexit Referendum in June 2016 has led to many questions about the potential economic consequences of the UK leaving the EU. Due to the strong integration of the EU economies and the emergence of Global Value Chains since the start of the century, such questions can only be answered in a meaningful way if linkages between industries and countries are properly taken into account. In this lecture, I will survey input-output studies related to Brexit and discuss some options for future research.
